Why Your Home Should Be a Haven...

I am going to admit that my home is actually quite chaotic; with two home educated children, a dog and a busy lifestyle, we struggle to keep our home clutter free and therefore stress-free. Even so, I do understand how important it is to make sure your home is stress free, and luckily Rattan Direct have come up with a lovely guide to make your home a wonderful haven of blissful joy and calm...

Home Is Your Haven: Why It's Important to De-stress At Home is a really informative and helpful article, guiding you through all the ways you can change your home to relieve stress and create a humble and cosy environment, perfect to relax in after a long, tiring and probably stressful day.

Their guide offers insight into the Hygge hype, which I personally feel is a little bit of a trend, and should actually be a more natural vibe within someone's household rather than forced. Having said that, there are some amazing tips out there to create a cosy and warm environment as well as a place to enjoy quality time with your friends and family.

I really love the guide for its simplicity and its focus on saving and cutting back, rather than lavish expenses. The focus is more on simple indulgent activities, such as a bath time ritual or cosy fires, rather than spending money.

It's also good to discuss and be aware of stress and depression, something so common in today's world. It includes 19 tips to de-stress, perfect for anyone (like me!) who suffers from anxiety or similar issues...

I love gaining more light within my home, it certainly brightens me up, as well as giving a sense of warmth and space. De-cluttering is also something I need to work on, but I am a little bit of a hoarder and I love trinkets! Still, in order to become less stressed and enjoy my living space, I think this is an area I should definitely focus on. I also love the point they make about technology and cutting back, it's definitely a mood drainer and it makes my family quite grumpy if it's on too much!

I love the guide, and I think I'll be taking a lot of tips and implementing them over the next few months. Let's face it, less stuff equals less stress, and I want my home to be a haven.
