Why We're Loving Las Iguanas!

*Thank you to Las Iguanas for inviting us to their makeover party.

Warren and I were really excited to be able to attend the recent re-launch of Las Iguanas on Mill Lane in Cardiff last week. We have never been before and we don't get the chance to go out for a meal on our own often, so it was an extra special evening for so many reasons.

The restaurant has recently undergone huge changes and the results are quite simply gorgeous. The mixture of yellows, blues and beautiful lighting creates a warm buzz within this quirky restaurant. Its location is also perfect for a mid-shop lunch break or booking dinner before heading out into the wonderful night-life of Cardiff.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the most friendly staff and show to our table. It was great to be made to feel so at home in a new environment and the staff were all so incredibly attentive, helpful and kind.

Before we had a nose at the menu we were taken over to a special area to make a Caipirinha cocktail with the awesome and friendly Ben. I really loved this part of the night, it was so much fun making cocktails with Warren, and the Caipirinha is truly delicious! It is a very light and zesty cocktail made with lime, ice, sugar and Magnifica Cacha├ža.

In other news, cocktails at Las Iguanas are no longer two-for-one during certain times and on specific days, instead they're always two-for-one! This means even on a Saturday night you can try out some delicious cocktails without breaking the bank. After we'd polished off our Caipirinhas we tried out a Golden Porn Star Martini and it was so delicious! It consists of  Gosling’s Gold Rum, apricot, Funkin passion fruit, vanilla & pineapple, and it comes with a side shot of cava. I was in heaven!

When it comes to food I was a little nervous. As you know, I've been taking part in Veganuary and this was the first time we'd eaten out during January. I was a little nervous there wouldn't be much choice but as soon as I mentioned it to the lovely Tsveti she brought me a vegan menu which also included vegetarian and gluten-free options. I was amazed and it actually made me feel quite special. They've also got a special Veganuary promotion running this January; 2 for 1 on mains!
