Top Tips to Deal with Money Woes.

*This is a sponsored post.

2017 has been a whirlwind of ups and downs (mostly downs) and financial struggles have definitely played their part. I think 'money' is such a tough subject to talk about, especially when you have nothing to fall back on.

From broken washing machines to vets bills, there's always something that hits us when we least expect it, and now we're a student household it's even tougher. As I've said before, our lifestyle isn't a glamorous one and we're happy pursuing our dreams, but this comes with financial hurdles...

That's where back-up and fail safe rainy day money comes into play, and I thought I'd share some of my top tips for making sure there's always a way to get out of a sticky financial situations.

1. Turn to your loved ones.
I know debt or money woes can lead to horrid consequences, so my first port of call would be to ask a friend or family member for help. These kind of loans will offer you the security that you will only have to pay back what you borrow and usually within a reasonable amount of time. Nanny Kim has always helped us over the years, and I look forward to the day I can return the favour.

2. Have a rainy day fund.
Have a pot in your house where you pop any spare coins and random change on a daily basis. It will slowly build up and it's a great way to have a bit of cash towards the end of the month.

3. Consider a short term loan.
There are so many versions of cash loans out there nowadays, there's definitely something for everyone. These loans are a lifesaver if you receive a last minute bill or your pet needs an operation, whatever your situation you're sure to find a loan that suits your needs.

4. Get frugal!
Cut back on things. I haven't had a haircut for well over a year, and we don't really do things like spa days, gym memberships or subscription boxes. We also use vouchers, collect points in all our local supermarkets, check out the discount aisles at the end of the day and make a lot of our own food from scratch. In fact, even becoming vegan has saved us money! Look at how you and your family can cut back to save a bit more each month.

5. Get extra work.
We're currently giving our employment an overhaul and even though it's scary, it's also necessary. Looking for a few hours work here and there each week can top up your income, but if you receive any benefits these will likely drop. Just make sure you research all your options!

6. Sell, sell, sell!
Hit the local car boots or eBay and sell all your spare things! From old clothes and shoes to any technology, you're bound to make a couple of quid.

I think it's really easy to have a financial woe these days, life is so costly and things go wrong it's hard not to feel the strain. I hope I've helped think of some ways in which we can all get through the tougher times, but please remember to seek help if you need it, because there's always somebody who cares about you.
