Book Review: Horses: Wild & Tame.

I am so excited about this review because Flying Eye Books never fail to impress and inspire me; their books are extremely well made and quite simply gorgeous. From the actual content of the writing to the illustrations we are always blown away by their selection of books, so we were really excited when we received Horses: Wild & Tame.

This time we have received a book all about horses. Yup, horses. At first I was a bit apprehensive as to whether it would gauge any interest from the children, but I needn't have worried. As ever, Flying Eye have hit the spot when it comes to intrigue and interest in specific subjects such as horses.

The book is hardback and costs £12.99 RRP, a perfectly reasonable price for a high quality hardback such as this. I always find they keep their condition a lot longer than paperback books (in this house anyway!).

Horses: Wild & Tame begins with an introduction into horses followed by wild horses, war horses, famous horses, work horses, sports horses and more. Personally, my favourite part is definitely the section on the legendary horse Pegasus. I used to be ever so slightly obsessed with Pegasus as a kid ,so it really brought back a lot of wonderful memories.

As ever the illustrations are beyond beautiful. They open up worlds to the everyday eye, from the history of horses to horse care and make it inviting, eye catching and extremely interesting.

The writing is very user friendly for all ages, with lovely descriptions and stories about different horses throughout history.

I think this is the perfect way to begin an adventure into the world of horses, read together as a family or as child under a duvet with a torch, this book is pretty magical and will certainly develop a love for such a beautiful creature.

Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for review. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
