Review: LinkIt! Fun for the Whole Family.

We really love family games, and as the dark nights draw closer it seems right to be adding to our ever-expanding collection. We were recently sent Linkit, an interactive game suitable for all the family, to review. Here's how we got on…

Linkit is presented in a round tin, it's pretty compact and I could imagine being able to take it on day trips or storing it in the car for road trips or simply using it at home on rainy days. Inside the tin is a set of instructions and a set of orange and blue cards.

It took us a while to get our head around the instructions, but once we got going it was really easy and this is where the competitive side comes into play!

To begin you need to make sure the blue and orange cards are separated and place the orange cards face up in the middle of the players. You then shuffle the blue cards and place them into 9 piles around the pack of orange cards. Then the fun begins…

The aim of the game is to collect as many cards as possible. To do this each player must try to make a link between two blue cards and the main orange card. When a player notices the links they need to shout them out and take the two blue cards and the orange card. The game repeats in this way until one pile runs out of cards. Whoever has the most cards at the end of the game wins!

When it comes to matching the pictures, it was a little confusing at first. You have to match pictures that go together, for example 'camp-fire' and 'tent' or 'fish' and 'fish bowl'. It took us a while to click with all the different links available, but over time we all managed to retain the links and paly the game in a fast-paced fashion.

We really enjoyed playing this game, but for Warren and I it became a little repetitive. However, George and Molly want to play it all the time, and that's what really counts!

You can get Link It for £12.95 (RRP £16.95) from Amazon.

Disclosure: I received this item in exchange for review. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
