Techniquest

tqip12

This week we celebrated Molly's 6th birthday in style by heading to Techniquest to check out their latest addition; the Imagination Playground. This wondrous play area focusing on unstructured free play was created by award-winning architect David Rockwell.

Tucked away on the first floor, the Imagination Playground is a wonderful world of fun. Large blue blocks await the creativity of children (and adults alike!) and the endless games, structures, ideas our children came up with were out of this world, Molly went for stacking and creating things to use, we both worked on a little see-saw and she was very interested in slotting things into place and playing with the cogs.

George had other ideas and in the end he built a castle. With the help of other children, George created a strong structure and once it was complete everyone bundled inside!

It was fantastic to see George, Molly and lots of other keen children, work together to build and create. I think George and Molly could have stayed there forever!

We really adore Techniquest and obviously it would be crazy to not see other areas, so here are a few pictures of the different things on offer.

We think the Imagination Playground absolutely rocks; it allows for freedom of thought, it encourages children to problem-solve, it encourages construction and interaction between children. It's fab!

Tickets range from £5.40-£7.50, and opening hours are 9.30am-4.30pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am-5pm on weekends.

Have your children tried out the Imagination Playground yet? What did you think?

Disclosure: I received free entry in exchange for review. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.

  1. Techniquest is our favourite! We haven't seen this new exhibition yet though. Now I'm planning a trip! We usually combine a trip to Techniquest with a trip on the boat bus and a run around in Bute Park before hopping on the train home. It's one of my favourite days out.
